Waste Strategy and Operations are looking to recruit a suitably experienced and qualified Waste Operations Manager to lead a team of area supervisors and a large operational workforce in delivering high quality, cost-effective front-line waste collection and cleansing services to residents and businesses across the County Borough.
Candidates should possess a Level 6 (Degree) qualification to be shortlisted for this post and have a high level of knowledge and understanding of the range of policy and operational issues relating to the delivery of local authority waste management services.
Extensive management experience in a waste management discipline in Local Government or a similar business environment is essential. Candidates should also have significant experience of managing a multifunctional operational team delivering front-line services as well as a proven track record of instructing, monitoring and managing contracts and contractors.
Candidates are required to have excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills, experience of writing reports and be flexible to work unsociable hours, weekends and bank holidays both in emergency situations or where tasks of the post demands.
