Help shape and develop Waste Services in Cumbria

Cumbria County Council is seeking an exceptional candidate to join their Senior Management Team. In the role you would take overall strategic leadership and management responsibility for the waste contract and act as lead advisor within the authority on waste disposal, prevention and recycling during challenging times for local government.
You will have the vision, skills and flair to help us deliver on our aspirations and drive improvement, efficiency and transformation. We are looking for candidates with a strong track record who can offer innovative approaches and solutions and manage large complex commercial contracts. Setting corporate standards of behaviour, we expect you will be an ambitious determined leader, a corporate player and a strong advocate of our “one team” approach. Ideally, you will have experience in managing PFI/PPP contracts and an understanding of waste operations and legislation.
