The Council, as a waste collection authority, is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to provide the operational management and direction of the refuse collection and vehicle workshop services at our Salthill Depot site. Whilst wheeled bin collection systems are recognised as being one of the most efficient and effective in the country, further developments will be required in order to ensure that the refuse and recycling service retains a high degree of customer satisfaction in an increasingly challenging environment.
The Council has a fleet of 8 refuse vehicles, 2 paper recycling vehicles and is responsible for the roadworthiness, maintenance and repair of a number of other council owned vehicles used for the delivery of a variety of services from grounds maintenance to pest control.
IT competencies, as well as proven managerial and technical skills, are all essential requirements.
