Dacorum Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to work within our Waste Services Team.
The Recycling Adviser will support the team with the research, procurement, logistics, communications and analysis of the service’s key projects. These include but are not limited to, the delivery of a food waste collection service to flat-dwellers; the roll-out of co-mingled recycling to flat-dwellers who do not currently have this service and the improvement of recycling participation levels within schools.
You will assist the service in reaching a 60% recycling rate.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to resolve complaints and encourage compliance to the service changes in a polite, diplomatic and tactful manner.
You will have the experience of working in a team and the confidence to work on your own and plan, prioritise and manage your workload effectively. You will have good analytical and research skills, be highly motivated, and be expected to deliver against a challenging work plan.
You will need a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel programmes, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
A check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly Criminal Records Bureau) to ensure the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.

Salary: £20,216 to 21,592 per annum (inclusive of London Fringe Weighting),
Fixed term contract, April 2018 to April 2019 – 37 hours per week
