Solihull is a vibrant and growing borough and we are expanding our Waste and Recycling Team to meet demand and to coincide with the start of our new waste services contract.
We recognise that our people are the key factor in achieving our vision and as such, we are always on the lookout for talented individuals, who want to make a real positive difference to people’s lives and can help us to continue building on our success.
This is an exciting time to join us. We are starting a 10-year contract with our new service provider Veolia, and we will need to develop and diversify our services to meet the future requirements of the Environment Act and to contribute to Solihull’s Carbon reduction aspirations – combined, these aspects result in a unique opportunity to play an integral part in developing new services which will contribute to making Solihull a cleaner and greener place to live.

- Be able to interpret and analyse waste tonnage data
- Have a genuine interest in recycling, environment, and climate change
- Be a clear and confident communicator
- Be a problem solver and negotiator
- Be a team player and also motivated to plan your own working day
We are currently implementing our Smarter Ways of Working as we recognise that work is what you do and not necessarily where you go. Our aim is to balance the needs of our employees with service delivery. Therefore, you will be able to work in a hybrid way, working remotely from the comfort of your home, but also from our conveniently located and newly refurbished offices at our main Depot at Moat Lane, Solihull.
Working Monday to Friday, we can be flexible about how you work your hours to fit around any caring responsibilities you may have, whilst ensuring that work priorities are met.
You’ll also have the opportunity to make the most of our attractive staff benefits which include staff discounts and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
