PermiServ took part in the first ever virtual LARAC seminar as one of the silver sponsors. This year was certainly a memorable experience, largely as there was no alcohol involved but with the entire event broadcast using a conference software platform!

The technology used to showcase the event this year was incredible, the work gone into making the event as successful as it was by the LARAC team is to be hugely congratulated. Never imagined it could be done but the team certainly pulled it out of the bag.

After the show, PermiServ have been busy contacting all who we had spoken to over the two-day period. We have been inundated with enquiries which is fantastic. We are sending many sample packs and booking in meetings/demo’s with various authorities up and down the country. The technology used at LARAC meant we were able to reach out to many people and introduce ourselves to not just local authorities but companies we had not spoken to in previous years. By being able to see a full list of delegates, people’s names and companies we could make a note of who we missed speaking to and catch up with them at a later time, getting the PermiServ name out there even further and enlightening what we do aside from our printing division.

Attendees being able to join the PermiServ table for a 1-2-1 ‘face-to-face’ meeting over webcam worked very well for us, we could easily showcase what we offer and answer clear questions/queries with ease, the added bonus being others could also join in at any point or just listen to what was being said. We were then also able to network by jumping from table to table, introducing ourselves to anyone we had not encountered before and exchanging contact details. All in all, PermiServ found the technology used to provide the LARAC event for 2020 a huge triumph.

On to the awards ceremony with this being one of the main highlights for PermiServ (aside from hugely appreciating Lee’s attire for this event) we sponsored the Outstanding Contribution to Recycling award won by Julie Hughes, Cheshire West & Chester Council – very well done!

To summarise this year has been a very tough year globally and it is a shame that such big events like had to have been cancelled but for us personally it was a very successful LARAC event and whilst we hope next year things will be back to normal, it is very safe to say if a virtual LARAC event were to arise again, it would certainly have the full support of PermiServ.
