Pledge 4 Plastics, a national initiative aiming to boost plastics recycling, has created a 60 second #PlasticsReborn animation revealing the ‘secret lives’ of plastics and showcasing how plastic packaging from all over the home can be transformed when recycled.

The video highlights how everyday household plastics can be transformed after they are recycled – for example, a juice drinks bottle could become a football shirt – therefore encouraging people to recycle more.

There are two versions of the video now available on YouTube.  The first shows the recycling transformations of plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays. As some councils are not yet able to collect plastic pots, tubs and trays, there is also a 30 second ‘bottles only’ version, plus 5 6 second Vine clips to choose from.

The videos are a great resource which Pledge 4 Plastics is keen for local councils to take advantage of so to that end they have also released a briefing to accompany the videos which  contains everything you need to use the videos to their full potential, educating people in your area about the potential of recycled items.  The briefing is available here - and long term  on our Members' useful information page.

Steve Morgan from Recoup and Nat Cox at Tangerine  are happy to help if you have any questions about using the resource
