VIP Bin Cleaning

North Hertfordshire District Council , working in association with VIP Bin Cleaning, have completed another round of cleaning to the communal brown recycled food waste bins used by residents at flats.

Brown bins are issued by the Council and maintained and emptied by Veolia so the public can dispose of their food waste. The food waste recycling programme is an effective way of reducing the amount of waste that is sent to landfill. However, the council identified that some residents may be deterred from recycling their food waste due to the unpleasant odours and sights that they may encounter when disposing of their food waste, as well as some food waste compacting and sticking to the bottom of bins after being emptied. To prevent this from becoming an issue and to encourage the public to continue to use the bins, the Council contracts VIP Bin Cleaning to clean the brown bins on a regular basis.

To secure and maintain this contract VIP Bin Cleaning must meet the strict criteria set out by the Council and abide by all relevant standards and health and safety legislation.

It is also important to the council that VIP Bin Cleaning is a professional and reputable company. VIP Bin Cleaning has been established for 19 years and has a proven history of completing these and similar contracts.

VIP to the bin cleaning rescue

North Hertfordshire District Council instructs VIP Bin Cleaning to clean all of the communal brown food waste bins three times a year. Using their mobile cleaning machines, VIP Bin Cleaning clean each bin on site using its environmentally friendly system - only bio degradable cleaning products and a minimum amount of recycled water is used. This water is then disposed of at the end of the day in accordance with a consent to discharge licence which prevents any water or mess being left behind at the site after each clean.

VIP Bin Cleaning liaises closely with the Council during each cleaning cycle to ensure the contract runs as smoothly as possible. During each cleaning cycle VIP Bin Cleaning will also report back to the Council  with information regarding any damaged or missing bins.

As more cleaning cycles are completed, the relationship between North Hertfordshire District Council and VIP Bin Cleaning has strengthened and the reaction from the public has been very positive.
