This year’s programme saw one of the highest number of applications we have ever seen!

There were 35 entries for the 24 all-expenses paid scholarship place to LARAC’s UK Conference, held in October in Birmingham. The places are paid for by REPIC, our sponsors, and we are very grateful for their support.

The Scholar experience starts on 4 October with a scholars’ workshop/seminar and the pre-conference event. Then on the Wednesday 5 Oct and Thursday 6 Oct they join conference, attend workshops and take part in the Awards on the first evening. On top of this, their travel expenses are paid for, as is their accommodation. And then REPIC takes them forward through the year with bespoke events they arrange. It's a bumper package for the newer colleagues of our member authorities, and one we are delighted to be able to provide again this year.

Judging the entries this year were Cathy Cook - LARAC Chair, Andrew Bird - Treasurer and Carole Taylor, Internal Affairs Manager. It’s not an easy job as the standard of entries was high, and there were a lot of worthy applications. If you weren’t successful this year, please do try again next year if you are eligible.
