The new MRF Regulations – what does this mean?

Create Centre, Bristol

Resource Futures is hosting a conference to provide clarity around the latest MRF regulations to come out of Whitehall.  The MRF Regulations event, on 1st July in Bristol, will bring together experts from Environment Agency, WRAP, Defra, Resource Association and waste management sector for an informative session including workshops about how to implement the regulations and improve the value from the kerbside to the reprocessing plant.

Earlier this year, the UK Government passed the new Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Regulations that aim at improving recyclate quality and stimulating trade conditions.  Under the new regulations, MRF operators with a capacity of over 1,000 tonnes will have to test the composition of material received and products produced.

The regulations come in to force later this year and the event will include speakers from the Environment Agency and Defra to provide an update on the aims of the regulations and how they will be regulated.  Other confirmed participants include Andrew Bird, LARAC, Stuart Hayward-Higham at SITA UK, Jakob Rindegren from ESA and Jonathon Short from ECO plastics.  The conference includes a workshop and a number of Q&A sessions allowing delegates to the burning topics of the day. MRF REGULATIONS:  IMPLEMENTATION AND IMPROVING VALUE ACROSS THE SUPPLY CHAIN
